Blueskin Primer

I am looking for clarification on the Primer for Blueskin SA. 1) Confirmation that the adhesive is considered part of the air/vapour barrier, and not applicable. 2) If it is applicable, which application does it fall under (adhesive primer for plastic)? Blueskin Primer VOC content = 450 g/L Blueskin LVC VOC content

I would think it is part of the air barrier system. If it is not, it isn't a plastic primer because the plastic part of the blueskin is on the opposite surface from the primed surface. You'll have the blue plastic coat, the asphaltic sticky stuff (very technical term) primer then substrate as an assembly.

Careful, this can be a sticky wicket. It depends on the air/vapour barrier system design. if the Blueskin "is" the air/vapour, it is applicable, as the Modified Bituminous Sealant Primer is technically on the inside of the air/vapour. The Modified Bituminous Sealant Primer max VOC is 500 g/L under Rule 1168. Often there is an air/vapour barrier on the inside of the Blueskin, if so, it does not need to be reported. Good luck!
