Bike storage in a garage

I have a clarifying question in regards to bike storage in relation to the storage being in a garage.

1. If I understand it correctly, the vertical distance for a stairway/ elevator doesn't count towards the distance to an entry. Therefore, you would need to count the distance walking across the garage from the storage location to the stairway/ elevator. In this case, you can access the building from the garage. Once you reach the elevator and go to the proper level, you can enter the building. Is this a correct assumption?

Thank you.

Hello Mark,  Since the vertical distances travelled by elevator (v4.1 Beta Guide does not mention stairway, but I believe it includes stairways too) are exempt from counting towards the walking distance requirements. Only the horizontal walking distance from the storage to the stairway/elevator should be counted. Based on this, your assumption seems to be correct.  Thanks!
