Dear All, We have confronted with 1 complicated issue regarding Bike Rack numbers. The gross floor area 1.928.456 ft2 Rapid Train Station with its Hotel, Restaurant and Mall. There is 3550 FTE + 20000 expected passengers. Total number of required bike racks (5%) is 1177; (0.5%) 117 for showers. Question: Was it correct? We afraid that there might be a problem with our approach. So is there any other approach to calculate it? Because 1177 bikes are pretty much.

A couple of questions; 1- Is the an NC or CS project, the requirements are lower for Core & Shell projects over 300000 sf. 2- The 20000 transients; is that the expected "peak transient" number or total number of passengers expected to use the station in a given day?
Hi Charles,
It is a C&S project and 20.000 is the peak number of expected daily passangers.
Take a look at the LEED Reference guide, the equations are different for C&S projects. Plugging your numbers into the credit form I get 209 spaces required. If you are having problems locating the equations, PM me and I'll send them to you.
