We are trying to fulfill the requirements for EQc2 LEM for our installed furniture. Much of our documentation states compliance with the following:
ANSI/BIFMA X7.1-2011(R2016) and ANSI/BIFMA e3-2014e Credit 7.6.1 & 7.6.2
As I understand it, LEED only accepts "e3-2011," not "e3-2014e."
Why has LEED not amended its standards to include the updated, more stringent version? Or has it? Can a solid case be made for e3-2014e? It seems that all new ANSI/BIFMA testing for furniture is now compliant with e3-2014e, not 2011. So in not amending their requirements, LEED is preventing projects from counting newer furniture toward their certification.
