Does anyone know if LEED specifies what types of batteries need to be recycled? I'm currently working on a project where the healthcare campus recycles specialty batteries that have hazardous metals in them such as Lithium Ion and Nickel Cadmium, will that satisfy the prequisite requirements?

They do not specify the types of batteries because the types of batteries used are dependent on the organization. It is more important to work with Materials Management on all the batteries purchased and get those items recycled. Luckily, most hospitals already recycle batteries and other items not listed in the Reference Guide.
