I have a few basic Doubts regarding what is stated in the reference guide. Please clarify.
1. The reference guide talks about creating two models, one for building energy cost and the other for IT equipment cost - Does that mean we have to create two energy meters in the same model and show energy consumption separately?
2. The power Utilization Index have to be calculated for the proposed design. But what are we comparing this with?
3. PAC units have to be directly modeled and should not be considered as process loads - Please confirm.
4. Reference guide asks to develop two sets of model - one for full load and other for start up load. Which model will be used to calculate final energy saving percentage and show mandatory compliance?

Hi Rathnashree, in an effort to address some of your queries from personal experience with a v4 DC project please see below:
1. We created the typical energy model in which we used the output of the DC calculator as an input for the IT loads. In the end, we simulated the regular model and got the results.
2. The PUE has to be calculated for reference reasons and does participate directly in earning the prerequisite/credit. It is obvious that the lower the better but your PUE is not compared to a “baseline” one.
4. You will be required to calculate the PUE for both situations (initial and full load) but only savings in the full IT model between the proposed and the baseline building can contribute to earning the prerequisite/credit or not.
