Dear all,
we are performing the energy modelling of an hotel building for purposes of EA P2 (minimum energy performance) and EA C2 (energy performance). We have the following doubts:
- how shall we classify circulations serving hotel rooms ? Residential (as the hotel rooms themselves) or non-residential
- we could not find guidance in ASHRAE 90.1 about outdoor air ventilation system for spaces endowed with HVAC System 1 (PTAC). Our proposal is to apply the SFP referred in section G3.1.2.10 (for systems 1 and 2) to the baseline outdoor air flowrate. Do you agree ? Or outdoor air flowrate fan energy use is already embedded in the above referred COP ?
Thanks in advance,

1. For a hotel building, the entire building can be classified as residential. However, reviewers tend to be lenient with the classification of the spaces outside of the rooms themselves, so you should also be able to classify them as nonresidential without a problem.
2. The Baseline should not have a separate outdoor air system. The outdoor air should be modeled as supplied by the PTAC units directly. The PTACs would get modeled with the SFP from G3.1.2.10, and the fan energy must be removed from the rated cooling efficiencies in Table 6.8.1D.
