Baseline HVAC system datacenter

Hi all,

I've got a question regarding the baseline HVAC system for a datacenter project. Modeling in DesignBuilder and using ASHRAE 90.1 2010.

I have a building with a total floor area of 32000 m2. So technically it should be HVAC system 8, however due to high internal loads exceptions apply.
According to section G3.1.1 exception b, rooms that differ by more than 32W/m2 from the average heat load should be modelled as system 4.
Second, the HVAC system needs to be determined by the predominant condition, mentioned in the BDC.

The DC has 10 datahalls with a power density of 8kW/m2. Total floor area 10000m2 and a setpoint temperature of 35 degrees C.
There are a bunch of datahall support rooms like LV, STS, battery rooms etc that have power densities ranging between 0,3-1,5 kW/m2 and . These total at around 16000 m2 and have varying setpoint temperatures from 24 degrees C to 35 degrees C.
The rest of the building has meeting rooms, offices etc with a total of around 6000 m2 where some areas have no internal loads or loads below 50W/m2.

Do I model the datahalls with system 6 based on floor area and the rest of the building system with 4?
Or should the datahall and support rooms be added together, which would mean they will get system 8 and the rest of the building system 4?

Thanks for your help!
Kind regards,

Boris Jonjic
