I would like to ask if anyone has a comment on two questions regarding the baseline model for existing buildings:

1) According to Table 3.1 from Appendix G, thermal loads due to occupancy and equipment as well as all schedules should be the same for both Baseline and Proposed models.
I concluded that the disposal of the interior areas should be common to both models (eg same areas for restrooms and offices).
Question: Should I use the proposed model to define the indoor areas distribution and replicate in baseline?

2) My existing building (before retrofit) have outside shading (brises) and there is the intention to keep this device in the new project. In accordance with G3.5.1 table:
"f. Existing Buildings: For existing buildings envelopes, the baseline building design shall reflect existing conditions prior to any revisions that are part of the scope of work being evaluated"
But the same table says I should model the baseline with no shading devices:
"5.5-1- through 5.5-8: All vertical glazing shall be assumed to be flush with the exterior wall, and no shading projections shall be modeled..."
Question: Should I ignore this last quote and include shadowing devices in the baseline model?

Further on, I contacted ASHRAE as well, and they answered me that I should look to 2013 version in order to clarify my doubt of version 2007. According toTable G.3.15:
"d. Vertical Fenestration Assemblies. Fenestration for new buildings, existing buildings, and additions shall comply with the following:
- Fenestration U-factores shall match the appropriate requirements..."
- Fenestration SHGCs shall match the appropriate...
ALL VERTICAL FENESTRATION SHALL BE ASSUMED TO BE FLUSH WITH THE EXTERIOR WALL, AND NO SHADING PROJECTIONS SHALL BE MODELED"
