Baseline Energy Rates for CHP

I am working on a project where natural gas generator is used power generation and the waste heat is recovered to run the VAM chiller. So, i modeled the generator and VAM chiller as CHP in the proposed design. Here the backup source is electricity from grid. As per LEED, for projects with CHP, the baseline shall be modeled with energy rates of backup energy source. so is it acceptable to model the baseline design with energy rate of grid sourced electricity? Kindly clarify. Thanks in advance
