EAp2 has an mandatory ASHRAE requirement (90.1-2010, Section 8.4.2 Automatic Receptacle Control) requiring at least half of all private offices, open offices, and computer classrooms to be controlled by an automatic control device. This can be accomplished one of three ways: 1. Time of day schedule that turns receptacles on/off at specified times. 2. Occupant sensors that turn receptacles off after 30 mins of inactivity. 3. Signal from another control/alarm system that indicates when an area is unoccupied. Unfortunately, this control requirement was overlooked during the design process. Is there a way to satisfy this requirement after the fact? (We suggested motion-sensor power strips that automatically turn off after 30 mins of inactivity. However, USGBC said that the control system needs to be part of the bldg.) Any suggestions??

There is a recent addenda on this - LI 14062 but I believe LEED v4 still requires it to mandate 8.4.2 Automatic Receptacle Control, fortunately though Title 24 removes this requirements. Correct me if I am wrong, please.
