For monitoring of naturally ventilated spaces the following option is available: "Provide automatic indication devices on all natural ventilation openings intended to meet the minimum opening requirements."
What are automatic indication devices? Shall they show whether the window is open or closed? Whether the window shall be open or closed? Shall they be connected with some automatic mechanism that is able to open/close?

Hi Francesco,
Automatic indication devices are sensors that give an alarm to indicate when any one of the openings intended for natural ventilation is closed during occupied hours. The credit language does not specifically talk about an automated system based on feedback from these devices. My understanding is that placing these sensors on ventilation openings will be enough to monitor the proper functioning of the natural ventilation system.
I'd like to raise another question related to this one. If we have permanent openings for natural ventilation, do we still have to install monitoring devices? Since there's no question of the permanent openings' being closed, it seems to be useless to install these devices.
Regards,
