NC-2009 EAp2: Minimum Energy Performance
This might be a silly quesiton, but when should you submit the optional ASHRAE compliance forms? If it's optional then why should anyone ever submit these forms?

A portion of our building envelope is historic. Can we exclude it from our model?

Almost know one does submit these forms and there is little advantage in the review process to do so.
The biggest benefit is that they are a means to document the mandatory provisions, especially if you are applying any exceptions.
