ASHRAE 90.1-2016 Appendix G - Baseline Building Vertical Fenestration

Under ASHRAE 90.1-2010, if the fenestration area was less than 40%, the baseline had to match the proposed model for fenestration area. Now in ASHRAE 90.1-2016, there is a table published for the baseline model. Does this mean that credit is available for reducing the fenestration to below the values in the table?

If this is the case, I am curious why the ACP for NECB 2017 still requires the baseline to match the proposed for the FWR.

The language in Table G3.1-5 Baseline does appear to require the baseline to use the values in Table G3.1.1-1 for building types included in that table. This also appears to be a contradiction to building types not in the table that are 40% or less. So this is subject to interpretation and it appears that NECB 2017 has interpreted it as it has always been. Have you checked the User's Manual?
