NC-2009 EAp2: Minimum Energy Performance
Dear All,
I have a doubt regaridng the LPD requirements for LEED projects. I am doing a Hotel project and would like to know if its mandatory to comply with Table 9.5.1 and Table 9.6.1 for LPD. Since this is a high end Hotel, I find it difficult to meet the above requirements in most of public and amenities spaces and its higher than the listed values.
Do you know if there will be any issue with LEED certification if the 90.1 LPD limits are exceeded.?

A portion of our building envelope is historic. Can we exclude it from our model?

You only must comply with the mandatory provisions in X.4 of each section. So these tables and the LPDs are not mandatory.

Please allow me to revive Arub's original question.
I have been working on high-end luxury retail project, under LEED ID+C (Retail) v4, pursuing EAp Prescriptive Compliance Path with LEED v4.1.
LEED v4 states, “Reduce connected lighting power density by 5% below ASHRAE 90.1-2010 using the space-by-space method or by applying the whole-building lighting power allowance to the entire tenant space.”, whereas LEED v4.1 states, “prescriptive provisions of Sections 5 through 10”.
Here, my understanding is, a minimum reduction in connected lighting is not specified and therefore not required. Similarly, in Section 9 of ASHRAE 90.1-2016, only the mandatory provisions in Section 9.4 are listed in the ASHRAE Lighting Compliance Form. This means the project is not required to comply with Table 9.5.1 or Table 9.6.1. Am I correct to understand that complying with Section 9.4 would suffice, irrespective of the LPD?
This question is crucial because it leads to make-or-break point where the project's LPD has far exceeded the prescribed limit of the ASHRAE, mainly due client's intention of making the space look grand. We sent several inquires to GBCI and strangly, received conflicting views on it.
