NC-v4.1 MRc4:Material Ingredients

Armstrong Ultima, Optima and Prelude XL

Hi all,

Looking for some help finding Material Ingredients Option 2 documentation for the following products:

  • Armstrong Ultima
  • Armstrong Optima
  • Armstrong Prelude XL

I read in an article by Green Badger that there is documentation for these products available, but I cannot find that documentation. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Cam Armstrong did not renew their Cradle to Cradle certs so those products are no longer valid. They sold their European line to Zentia, which still has some available, but not sure its in US markets.

Cam, I believe the only Option 2 compliant document I could find is for Armstrong- Ultima.
  • Declare label for Armstrong- Ultima Ceiling Panels. Red List Free, 100% disclosed at 100ppm (Advanced Invenstory & Assessment report type): https://declare.living-future.org/products/ultima-ceiling-panels
Declare labels and HPDs exist for Optima PB and Prelude XL but they fail the "Advanced Invenstory & Assessment: HPD that meets optimization and verification criteria." Typically the Declare labels are LBC Approved (not Red List Free or LBC Red List Free), and HPDs contain BM-1 and LT-1 hazards, and/or are not Third Party Verified (per Report Verification column in Option 2 reference guide language).   Hopefully this helps! I'd also recommend reaching out to your local Armstrong rep as they can get in touch with technical staff at Armstrong, who may have information about the status of their testing, certifications, and LEED compliance documents.

Mike,  Declare label for Armstrong-Ultima is not third party verified, so the label does not meet Advanced Inventory & Assessment reporting type for Option 2 of Materials Ingredients. It seems the HPD (https://www.armstrongceilings.com/content/dam/armstrongceilings/commercial/north-america/hpds/ultima-hpd.pdf) is not third party verfied too. Were you able to locate anthing else like C2C for this product?  Thanks!

Hi Bipin, From the research that I have done, Armstrong Ultima is not applicable for Option 2 of Material Ingredients. No C2C labels available for it either. Tommy mentioned that their European line does have some C2C labels, but they are a part of an entirely different product line.

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has a copy of the now-lapsed Prelude XL C2C certification. Our project has been going on for a while now, so it may actually be useful for us. I reached out to C2C and they can't find the "XL" product certification specifically. Thanks!

We have a C2C certificate that covers Prelude 24, Prelude 24 Sixty, Prlude 15, Bandraster, Prelude 35, Prelude 35 Sixty, System Z, Spring-T, DGS; Perimeters; Accessories.  It is for the period 29 Aug 2016 through 28 Aug 2018.  If you would like it, let me know how to get it to you.

Andrea, that last version that is out there expired in 2020. If that would be helpful, send me an email and I'll shoot it over - tommy@getgreenbadger.com.  It does not specifically say XL, but it broadly covers: Armstrong Prelude Suspension Systems & Accessories
