NC-2009 EAp2:Minimum Energy Performance

ARI Certification Requirement

We are working on a project in Sri Lanka where water cooled package units are to be used for air conditioning. Since most of the ARI certified products are designed to work at a frequency of 60Hz, these units do not fit the power supply conditions of this part of the world where the supply frequency is 50Hz. Considering this, is it acceptable to use a non ARI certified equipment that meets the minimum ASHRAE 90.1 efficiency requirements? Is it adequate if the equipment is tested by the manufacturer under ARI standards?

We have a similar question for China or anywhere outside of the US where AC units do not come with ARI ratings. Does anyone know how we can confirm equipment efficency meets ASHRAE LEED requirments when the COP is not certfied to ARI standards
