We have a renovation & addition project where the CM wants to do the Option 2: Air Testing to achieve IEQc3.2. A portion of the existing building (an old theatre) was outside of the scope of the project, meaning no work was done inside the theatre. The RTU serving the theatre was replaced but no work was done inside the theatre nor to the existing ductwork and returns.
How should the theatre be treated with regards to the air testing? Should it be masked-off (all openings to the theatre sealed) prior to the testing and that area excluded from the testing? Or does GBCI require it to be included/tested along with the rest of the building even though it was not part of the project? Your replies are greatly appreciated.
