Our project is a ca. 300,000 sqft mix-usage building with office spaces in the upper floors and restaurant and gym spaces on the ground floor. The two basement floors provide parking spaces, storage rooms and technical rooms for all building users. The project is still in planning phase. Currently the project team is working on the final building design parameters. The HVAC-system design does not foresee cooling towers which is the reason for selecting this pilot credit instead of WE Cooling Tower Water Use.
As we started to figure our the requirements of this pilot credit we struggled a bit in understanding the baseline system conditions in order to achieve credit compliance. Especially the first bullet point was confusing us:
- the baseline system designated for the building using ASHRAE 90.1-2010 Appendix G Table G3.1.1 includes a cooling tower (systems 7 & 8)
Did anyone else have these understanding problems?

The objective of the Pilot Credit ERpc94 is that you do not have cooling towers in your designed building.
But you need to compare your design project case vs a baseline project that has been designed by ASHRAE 90.1-2010 Appendix G Table G3.1.1 including a cooling tower (systems 7 & 8). Is a mandatory justify each of the sections.
