We have a question whether this credit applies to lighting integrated with medical equipment, or if the credit only applies to permanently attached building fixtures, like the low-VOC and other MR credits.

Chris,
I'm assuming you're talking about exam lights or surgical lights and it is an excellent question. The credit builds on the pre-req while adding building light fixtures. The pre-req doesn't address medical equipment very directly. For those reason and that LEED HC when dealing with non building equipment is generally clearer, I would say no, the credit doesn't apply to the med equipment. However, i would anticipate that this will change for certain fixtures where a no mercury option clearly exists like the OR lights.

Agreed- booms are medical equipment. LEED for Healthcare does have specific credits that address medical equipment.
