I am looking at a chemical free cooling tower maintenance system that returns huge water savings. Is there a threshold on the number of credits for one facility component? Assuming meeting WEp1 and meeting the criteria for the following credits, can this system gather credit points for WEc1, WEc2, WEc3, WEc4.1 and/or 4.2 and WEc17 and 18? Any other credits in Innovation or IAQ? thanks...

Julie, check the credit language for those credits posted here, but cooling towers aren't within the scope of several of the credits you list.

Thanks Tristan - it seems like a stretch for WEc1, WEc2, and WEc3 with some exception within EBOM, but in that list are there credits that can absolutely not be achieved through cooling towers?

Julie, please check the credit language for those credits, and the LEEDuser guidance. That will explain it a lot more thoroughly than I can here. Please post specific questions on those credit forums.

Julie,
I would be interested in your findings regarding chemical free tower operation and the LEED credits available. If the tower is operating at 50 to 100 COC the savings is about 30% of the makeup volume. If one uses reclaimed or well there will be a significant load reduction both incoming and outgoing systems. I would assume that there should be a few points?
