Anyone here affected by the extension of the v3 sunset date to June 2022?

Back in 2015 I registered a LEED v3 campus as well as several LEED v3 projects on this campus. Just now they are getting started on the last buildings. If we were required to push the last buidings up to v4 that would have caused quite a problem for the project team. 

This announcement is well received in this instance. 

Please note that v3 projects must have been registered prior to the registration sunset date, this article pertains to getting these already registered projects submitted for certification. 

Also relieved by the news! It only affects two of my projects, but both had gone on hold due to COVID and the 2021 deadline suddenly went from no problem at all to a major potential issue. 

Great point about the older standards dragging out, but anecdata from my experience - these are both Gold projects that would probably only hit Silver in v4 or v4.1 But on energy and water, i.e. where it matters most, they are surpassing many more recent projects. And both are subject to newer energy codes than LEEDv4 references! From a "point chasing" point of view, the gap between v2009 and v4 is huge (and that's still a frustrating conversation to have with clients), but looking at actual impact, the difference is fading in light of how policy and client expectations have advanced since v4 first rolled out. 

All of our projects are well into LEED v4, but glad this news is helping some folks and institutions in this difficult time!

It affects my current v3 project, and this news is a much welcomed relief. Although, am sure we will still submit for certification withiin the orginal June 30, 2021 deadline

It really helps with some core and shell work we are in a holding pattern on. BUT it does really create trouble in weird ways with large numbers of projects doing v4 and v4.1 and then the inconsistences review teams have being super lienenct and then also super strict on LEED v2009. At times I feel like some teams look at the v2009 submittal with v4 stringency and v4 in mind, while others just breeze the package through. For Developers how many clients / tenants are really scutinizing the Version fo LEED??  are they really saying oH this v2009, oh nevermind we want a LEED V4 space...

Almost all our current projects are v4; they all came on line after October 2016. 
The exception is one that we are Design Architects for, and not involved in the LEED Project Administration. 
So, not very much affected by this extension. All the same, good to know that the USGBC is reasonable in such times.
