Hello, has anyone had an success getting an exemption or exclusion on the WaterSense requirements for anti-liguature fixtures in an in-patient mental health facility? We are struggling to find ones that meet local code requirements, owner requirements and are also WaterSense.
Thanks in advance

Hi Bethany,
I had a project like this, but it was under v2.2, before Watersense was a requirement. Back then, there wasn't even a Prereq to meet, but we were not able to get any savings/points for the credit, both b/c of the challenges of having the right fixtures and also b/c I was informed that it was not the type of project where they could risk low-flow anything (I believe there's a MUCH higher and more constant experience of various things being flushed down toilets). This would also explain why none of them have the Watersense label.
Since prison fixtures are pretty closely related, and the Reference Guide does specifically state that those types must still meet the same requirements, I'd reach out to LEED Coach directly for a conversation.
