We are working on a v3 design phase project in Switzerland that is using SIA (swiss standard) as the design Ventilation rates. Looking at the alternate compliance paths for Europe guidance page 121 states that we can use ASHRAE 62.1 2007 for the minimum ventilation rate and compare a 30% increase compared to this to the SIA code? Looking at the values we believe we can get the credit with this method. However, the prerequisite states that we should use the local code if it is more stringent. Looking at the values the SIA code is more stringent (in some cases about 3xs more ventilation by space type compared to ASHRAE), so if we add an additional 30% ventilation we would have an operational penalty but show no penalty in the energy model (baseline and design case ventilation rates for outdoor supply modeled the same based on ASHRAE 90.1 2007 values.
