AIA COTE Measures as guiding framework

Following up on one of our conversations on the vision vacuum and sustainability beyond certifications, I would like to help facilitate an offline conversation with anyone working within their firm to use the AIA COTE measures as a guiding framework in their firms/projects. Attached are my slides on my first pass at thinking about this at Page but would love to refine these ideas together and share anything we come up with collaboratively. Let me know if you are interested.

Hi Jill, I'd definitely be interested in working with you on this approach. It feels like a great fit for our firm as we share the "vision vacuum". As we're retooling for our 2030 efforts, I agree that the COTE measures really do offer a great framework. Let's continue to talk. Thanks! Mark

Same here.  Nice presentation Jill, thanks for sharing.  We currently use a 5 component framework as a "system model" (user, co-creator, earth, community and capital) but are also looking at the COTE criteria as a framework.

Thanks for sharing, Jill! I'd love to be part of the discussion, as DLR Group is also aiming to use AIA COTE Top Ten design measures as a guideline.

Hi Jill, I would like to be a part of the effort as well. I have a few ideas for supporting framework however I'd like to discuss as a group first. Work smarter, not harder! Please include me in the invite.

Thanks for sharing your presentation Jill. We are also looking at using the COTE Top Ten design measures as a framework and would definitely be interested in participating in the discussion. Please include me on the discussion invite.

Hi Jill, We have also been looking at the COTE Top Ten measures as a framework.  I would be interested in participating in this effort.  Please include me in the invite.

Hi Jill, Applying COTE is on our to-do list for Elkus Manfredi, and would enjoy joining your discussion. Thank you, Harry

Hi Jill, I'm interested in this as well. We have been thinking about the Top Ten pretty narrowly (when it comes time to put together an award submission), but would like to be more proactive and intentional about thinking in these terms during design. Great ideas and presentation, thanks!

Hi Jill, We are also using the COTE requirements to inform our office sustainability goals, as well as a framework for organizing our sub-committees for the sustainability team (combining knowledge management and COTE - our favorite SDL topics apparently!) I would be interested in joining the effort as well! Meghan

Jill – I would like to be involved also in this discussion. We have started discussing the idea of using the Top Ten as a framework but this discussion has stalled internally. Rigor. Jill, I realized personal emails are not made available through the forum / BG. Perhaps rather then you searching for everyone on linkedin you could post your work email here and we could all contact you directly to get the ball rolling. :)

Mon, 02/26/2018 - 14:37

Thank you for your interest and response! I'm going to get all your emails from Nadav so no need to send a separate email to me directly (though mine is jkurtz@pagethink.com). I will be in contact with you shortly to get this ball rolling to figure out how we can better support each other in this effort.
