Hey Sages, Just lobbing this over the transome - not sure if anyone else cares :) but this would be a great group to dig in if anyone IS interested.
For the past few years, I've been working on melding two completely separate worlds - our world (with typical project delivery) and the world of Agile (not just software development process, but Agile management processes). Non-shocking headline? There are benefits found in the Agile process that we don't have at all in our "waterfall" process. A long list of them. However, now that I've fallen into the role of heading a software company - working in Agile - I've also discovered what is lacking there (from our world) and my team is working on adapting those things into our Agile process. In short - I think (?) we'd all agree that our process is rife with headaches and could be vastly improved if we had a magic wand - and learning from other contexts (industries) is at the heart of innovation - so I find it fascinating. As we work with owners on redesigning their project delivery, I'm trying to sneak these principles in...
Myer (now at P+W) has been my only thought partner (he applied it to 3 projects when he was at Weber Thompson) and found the experience to be very positive! Maybe we are the only two who care :) but I thought if anyone else did - it would be in this group!!
