Advocate [by Friday!] on behalf of solar net-metering

Hi all -

I got this yesterday from Renew Oregon, a credible environmental NGO here in the state.

"A secretive special interest group has filed a petition at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to take “net metering” rules away from states and make it a federal issue.  Net metering is the program that allows homes and businesses to generate their own solar and get credited for it.  Without this program, rooftop solar could disappear. "

Here's a link to a petition page which will send a letter to your state's governor , and to the FERC, the agency responsible for hearing the petition: https://www.savesolar.org

If you're interested, you need to act by Friday.

Thanks,

Clark

Thanks, Clark. Nothing like having to tackle every problem in the same week seems like, but this is easy action and easy for folks to follow/follow-up on. I've let Gov. Inslee know my feelings and, at the rate this week is going, I will be more in contact with him than some friends!

I completed the petition to send a letter to our governor. I don’t believe I’ve ever signed a petition that was directed to a governor rather than a state representative. Interesting. Thanks for the heads up Clark. More egregious moves to slide us backwards. I'll echo an apprehetion for the heads up on this as we already have a hard time battling net metering issues going on with public power utilities. Thanks Clark!
