We are interested in pursuing an ID credit using LEED-S Acoustical Performance criteria for a LEED-NC university project with classrooms. Do we need to adhere to the LEED-S Prerequisite EQp3 criteria or the EQc9 Enhanced?

That is a good question that is asked a lot. My guess would be that you would want to aim somewhere in between the two. The prerequisite addresses Reverberation Time and HVAC Background Noise, where the credit also addresses Sound Transmission from adjacent spaces. I would aim for addressing all three areas but would not necessarily hit the credit requirements. You should check out the Documentation Toolkit section of this credit on LU for an overview of how Armstrong earned and Acoustic ID credit.
