NC-2009 MRc2:Construction Waste Management

Achievement Rates for Exemplary Performance

Does LEED User have the achievement rates for exemplary performance of credits?  We are a GC and currently have been awarded a project with a goal of achieving exemplary performance in construction waste management.  This requires 95% diversion.  By definition (exemplary performance) this will be additional effort, we just don't know how much.  To help our management understand this is there a source that shows what percentage of project achieve this exemplary point?

Francis, this would be great data to have, but I don't think even USGBC tracks it, so we don't have access to it, unfortunately.

This is only one project where they earned the ID credit for C&D waste recycling > 95%. Maybe you can contact the community colllege or do google search & find out who was GC to talk to them for any insight into difficulties on obtaining such. Maybe the college has a waste coordinator that may know as well. See https://www.lanecc.edu/sites/default/files/sustainability/tour/construction_waste_management.pdf

The problem for finding this type of information is that USGBC's Project Directory (https://www.usgbc.org/projects) groups all ID credits under IDc1 for newer (v3/2009) LEED scorecards and doesn't include scorecards for older v2 LEED projects. You have to dig deeper to find the details of the innovation credit strategies. Using a Google search for "exemplary performance" MRc2, I found several 95%+ diversion projects including CSU's Laurel Village Residence Halls - https://www.fm.colostate.edu/projects/downloads/leed_checksheet_lv.pdf (https://www.usgbc.org/projects/laurel-village-residence-halls) (NC 2009), Resolute Health MOB and Fitness Center - http://www.middlemanconstruction.com/_assets/press/Resolute%20Health/Resolute-Health_LEED.pdf (https://www.usgbc.org/projects/resolute-health-mob-and-fitness-center)(CS 2009), 3R Building Sustainability Office Case Study - https://www.3rsustainability.com/wp-content/uploads/3R-Office-LEED-Case-Study.pdf (https://in.usgbc.org/projects/3r-office) (CI 2009), NOAA's Caribou Weather Forecast Office - https://buildingdata.energy.gov/project/noaas-weather-forecast-office-caribou-maine (https://www.usgbc.org/projects/caribou-weather-forecast-office-wfo-n)(NC v2.0), and Lewis and Clark's Roberts Hall http://www.greenbuildingbrain.org/buildings/roberts_hall_at_lewis_clark_college (https://www.usgbc.org/projects/roberts-hall) (NC v2.0).

Michelle, "This is only one project" as example = this is only one of any number of projects that may have achieved this ID credit.  Hopefully this is more clear.

Francis, See this link for a project that achieved 100% C&D waste recycling: https://leeduser.buildinggreen.com/forum/mrc2-100-diversions Debra

Sorry Debra! I misread your 5/14/18 statement. Thanks for clarifying.
