The CGP 2020 specify the next in the section 2.3.1. Prohibited Discharges " 2.3.1.3 Fuel, oils or other pollutans used in vehicle and equipment operation and maintenance.
The construction company said us about the equipment (generator in this case) that they are using are equipped with a closed drippan with sensor, if fluid comes over a certain inside level inside the dripppan, the genarator will switch off.
Its an acceptable measure to avoid the discharges of fuel?

That sounds good to me, especially if the construction company says they're in compliance based on that type of equipment. If they do any other preventative maintenance or active checks on fuel leaks etc, that would probably be good information to collect from them as well.
