EBOM-v4 EAp2: Minimum energy performance
Hi all,
We intend to apply for a LEED EBOM cert for a multi-tenant building built in the 1910s. The building was renovated and earned its Energy Star Score back in 2004. Is the score still applicable for the minimum energy performance requirements?

The performance period is (at least) the previous 3 months and up to 24 months immediately preceding the LEED EB certification application. An ENERGY STAR score in 2004 would be outdated when applying for LEED EB certification.

If a building has been vacant for 24 months prior to registering for LEED EB, I imagine they would they need 12 months of new data before starting the 3-24 month performance period. Does that sound right? Or, if they can achieve an Energy Star score higher than 75 in the first 12 months, that should do it?

Hi Joyce, you'll need to get 12 months of energy data into Portfolio Manager in order to generate a score, but you can work on your other EBOM credits at the same time. In other words you don't need to do 12 months, confirm your ES score, then start your 3 - 24 month performance period. You can run the performance periods in parallel, but make sure all the performance periods in your submittal end within the same 30 day window. Does that make sense?
