We are working on a project in South Holland, IL.
WE PREREQUISITE _ Outdoor Water Use Reduction option 1 requires a maxiumn two-year establishment period.
However, the landscape architect notes best practices/recommend for 3-year watering.
In specification, if it specify 2 year watering for establishement period with option on 3rd year, does that meet this prerequisite option?
Thanks in advance

Hi Kun,
No, the irrigation system cannot be in operation (or be able to be operated) past the 2-year mark if you are targeting Opt 1. If they wish to still have irrigation past that, the project would need to document under Opt 2 and meet the 30% minimum reduction for the Prereq.

Hi Kun Liu,
As stated in LEED guide option 1, the requirement is to show no require permanent irrigation system beyond a maximum of two-year establishment. So, it doesn’t appear to comply with option 1 by adding the option of 3 years of watering.
