10% exemption for fire suppression systems

Is is possible to exempt 10% of the floor area that has CFC/halon/etc containing fire suppression systems? This project has several restaurants that together constitute less than 10% of the floor area that have CFC/halon fire suppression for the kitchens. The rest of the building has water sprinklers and likely could meet the threshold based on the refrigerants used in the building. Thanks in advance!

If the restaurants are under separate management control then the fire suppression systems associated with them could be excluded from the prerequisite.
