Kathy Collins leads the Energy and Sustainability Team at NV5-- a buildings, energy and infrastructure engineering company. In addition to leading the company in sustainable consulting services, Kathy stays involved in all phases of implementation-- property assessment, planning, LEED & WELL administration, team training, onsite testing, and post-certification performance analysis.
Kathy has more than 25 year experience in the commercial real estate industry. She has worked closely with Hines, Brookfield, Crescent, Moody Rambin, Transwestern, Trammell Crow and Jones Lang LaSalle on sustainable projects for both new construction and retrofitting of existing buildings. Kathy has been responsible for more than 200 million square feet of office space submitted for LEED certification and has managed more than 120 LEED-EB (existing building) Gold and Platinum certification projects. She also serves the local Houston USGBC Chapter as a “Green Leader”, and was Chair of the 2011 Gulf Coast Green Symposium and Expo on green building . Kathy has presented at the annual BOMA Convention and was project manager of the first Platinum LEED-EB ReCertification in the Gulf Coast region and the first LEED-EB Gold project in the country of Mexico.
