My mixed-use building contains space types that aren’t listed in the Base Ratios table in the Reference Guide. How do I calculate the base ratio for my project?

To determine the base ratio for a mixed-use building, pro-rate the amount of floor area of each space use type. If a use type isn’t listed in the table, select one that’s the most similar and provide a narrative justifying the selection.

I don’t have a copy of the Transportation Planning Handbook. How do I determine the base ratio for my project?

The LEED Reference Guide includes a Base Ratios table adapted from the Transportation Planning Handbook, which is also included in LEEDuser's Documentation Toolkit for this credit. You can find the parking capacity base ratio by checking the table for your project’s space use type(s) and size. If you’re having trouble determining the maximum number of parking spaces you can provide and still earn this credit, check out the example calculation in the Reference Guide.
