It’s All about Data

This is a performance-based prerequisite that must be documented through the Arc platform. Teams enter waste data into Arc for all ongoing and durable goods waste streams (facility renovations waste must be excluded). The data must cover at least 12 consecutive months with no gaps or missing data. Alternatively, teams can provide the results of at least one waste audit.

We don’t control tenant supplied supplemental cooling equipment for uses like server closets, data centers, etc. Are we required to address the tenant equipment for the credit?

Yes. Even if a tenant controls the refrigerant containing equipment, you’ll have to include it in the credit calculations. The only exception is that project teams may exclude up to 10% of the building floor area for separately managed spaces. See the LEED Reference Guide on more details for this type of exclusion.
