Hi folks,
We are doing an internal gap assessment on our owned data center that has been in operation ~30 years to see if it would be eligible for v5 certification and, if not, what additional work could be done to get us there. I'm reviewing the v5 existing buildings standard and noticed there aren't any data center-specific parameters in this version so hoping to get some advice. Has anyone looked into how to apply this credit to data centers yet?
I noticed in previous versions there was an Optimize Process Water Use credit where you could earn up to 2 points as well as a Cooling Tower Water Use credit for up to 4 points. I'm wondering if it would be reasonable to request a Credit Interpretation Ruling to use these (or something else) as a reasonable substitute for this specific project?
Greatly appreciate any insight folks can share as this is our first time applying LEED to a data center. Our 5 headquarters (general office) buildings are v4.1 EBOM certified and are not up for recertification under v5 just yet so I'm a little out of my depth.
