Hi everyone,
We're currently working on a LEED BD+C project and have a question regarding WEc1: Outdoor Water Use Reduction.
Is it acceptable to use an alternative water use calculation tool, rather than the LEED sample calculator, to demonstrate compliance? Specifically, we’re considering using the tool from the LOTUS rating system. This tool have much more advantage than the LEED V4.0 calculator, its capable of calculating rainwater use for irrigation.
For context:
- LOTUS is a green building certification system tailored for Vietnam, developed by VGBC - the Vietnam Green Building Council.
- VGBC is a member of the World Green Building Council, so it operates within a recognized international framework.
Has anyone had experience using alternative tools or had them accepted by GBCI for this credit?
Any advice, references, or feedback from similar cases would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
