Hi, All!
I would appreciate it if you could help me with the following question:
The Contractor plans to install an external signage (letters) with internal lighting in the boundaries of the construction site. The designer and manufacturer of the signage assures, that it is compliant, however, I have the following questions:
1. The Guideline does not mention anything about the construction site, it says "Project boundaries" regarding the external signage with internal lighting, so I am not sure whether the requirements are still viable for the construction phase as well, or only for the ready building in operating phase. Please advise.
2. If they already have the signage installed, can they use a luminance meter to demonstrate compliance, or a Dialux design with grid and calculation is still required?
Thank you.
1. "Project boundary" means LEED project boundary. Most credits use this line to define what is inside vs outside of credit requirements. You should be able to find this shown on another credit. I'm assuming this new sign is within the project boundary.
2. Yes they can measure the sign. Make sure the meter is properly calibrated and the sign is at maximum output. Measure properly at a few points. (Center, edge, others) I don't think Dialux would work.
