The credit language says “Products meeting recycled content criteria are valued at 100% of their cost for the purposes of credit achievement calculation.” How much recycled content has to be in a product for 100% of its cost to count toward credit achieve

Is there any way around the requirement that no more than 30% of the materials used to meet Option 2 be structure and enclosure items?

If Sustainable Agricultural Network (SAN) certification isn’t required for agricultural products to comply with Option 2, does the manufacturer still have to provide documentation of third-party verification?

Does anyone know if the Legal Wood pilot is used is lieu of FSC Wood requirements, does the woodworker who is making the cabinets out of FSC, or any other acceptabl e certification program (SFI, ATFS, PEFC, or CSA_SFM), have to hold any certifications? The challenge I am having is there are no cabinetry subcontractors in the state that have their FSC CoC, and frankly, we had only 1 cabinetry subcontractor bid the project. They indidcated that all wood would be FSC, however they do NOT hold a FSC CoC certificate.

It is my understanding that on-site installers must have CoC certification only if they modify the product off the project site.

Thanks Dave. The plywood is made into cabinets offsite; there is no way to make the cabinets on-site for QA/QC purposes. I am wondering if the cabinet maker has to hold the FSC CoC if the Legal Wood pilot is used in lieu of the FSC wood, as other certifications such as SFI is allowed.

CoC includes all successive stages of processing, transformation, manufacturing, and distribution. My guess is that GBCI will require the cabinet maker hold a FSC / SFI / PEFC chain of custody when pursuing this ACP - since they may consider the cabinet maker to be the 'transformer / manufacturer' if they build them offsite.  I only had to pursue this ACP once. It was a mass timber project and we did not have the recycled content from the steel to carry the credit.
