The five criteria areas (climate health, human health, ecosystem health, social health and equity, and circular economy) are not defined clearly. Thus, the criteria are so vague that there are high risks of greenwashing. Declaring such unclear subjects may not contribute to a better environment/society even if they are third-party certified or verified because the methodology is unreliable.

Instead, it should use third-party verified LCA results (LCIA indicators) such as the below as criteria areas for this MR Credit because of LCA's methodological consistency and maturity.

For instance, climate health can be explained in GWP (kg-CO2e) in LCA as we all know. Also, the social aspects can be expressed in LCA based on social LCA according to ISO14075. Water deprivation can be quantified by using the AWARE method in LCA. There are LCA indicators for material circularity including the Material Circularity Indicator (MCI) and the Circularity Index (CI).
Additionally, the most commonly used/declared indicators include depletion of the stratospheric ozone layer (kg CFC-11e), acidification of land and water sources (moles H+ or kg SO2e), eutrophication (kg nitrogen eq), formation of tropospheric ozone (in kg NOx), depletion of nonrenewable energy resources (MJ using CML or depletion of fossil fuels in TRACI). Each of them relates/contributes to human and ecosystem health.
