It is necessary to provide guidance for what is sought with the "positive soundscapes" goal. This is currently too vague and subjective for designers, assessors, and reviewers to know what might be suitable. Is this credit looking for biofidelic sounds? How loud? What about music? What type of music is "positive"? Would 80 dBA of contemporary music be considered "positive"? Conversely, would 60 dBA of heavy metal be positive?

For example, a facility manager/heads of a corporation might be very happy to have a soundscape that prominently includes the "sound" of their operating mechanical equipment, because that sound is very positive for them (the building is operating successfully and making money!). Is that the type of soundscape that is "positive"?

Lacking any definition, this credit is primed for confusion, misuse, and conflict.
