Retail-CI-v4 EAp2:Minimum energy performance

How to calculate EFLH in a Minimum calcurator

Dear all,

We’re currently simulating for only one store area in a department building pursuing LEED v4 Certification.

The project has received the following observations from reviewers.

"The Baseline and Proposed model fans equivalent full load hours (EFLH; determined by dividing the total annual fan consumption by the input total fan power) of 293 hours/year and 198 hours/year respectively appear to be very low for the retail store and also the modeled EFLH are inconsistent with that indicated in the Schedules tab of MEPC (HVAC hours per year of 3,650), which appears to be inappropriate."

We are attempting to modify the Minimum calcurator to address this point, but do not understand which items and how to modify them to change the EFLH values.

The project is expected to run for 3600 hours per year, but EFLH of 293h for baseline and 198h for proposed is too low, and we would like to modify the values to be appropriate.
What is your specific approach?

Best regards,

Kenta

Check the schedules in the model you are using for the fans as that is the likely source of the error.

Hi Kenta, Your proposed model, the fans are running 0.5 hours per day which is very low assuming the store is operated 365 days. In my experience, you should create separate operating schedule for the cooling fan to address the issue. Do this to your Baseline too.
