Hi,
I am working on a LEED ID+C V4project , we dont have existing construction details for the building and the building was constructed in 1970, What should i assume for building construction for both proposed and baseline? Should baseline still be based on 90.1-2010.

Ideally you would visit the building or at least interview the facility personel to make a determination of the existing conditions. In 1970 it is likely that there was little to no insulation installed unless it was in a really cold climate. Has any insulation been added over the years? Roof replaced? Windows replacement is highly likely. Any records of such work done on the building? You should gather as much information as you can including some visual inspections. Absent that you could use the 90.1-2010 baseline as it would likely produce a conservative result.

For your LEED ID+C v4 project, the baseline should still follow ASHRAE 90.1-2010 as required, using Appendix G for guidance, and assume standard characteristics for buildings of the era if details are missing. For the proposed case, assume building characteristics consistent with the 1970 construction unless renovations or updates are part of the project scope, ensuring all assumptions are clearly documented.
