Job opportunity with city of Seattle

Great career opportunity to make an impact on existing buildings and emissions reductions. City of Seattle will be hiring a full time Building Emissions Reduction Technical Advisor. Closing date to apply is August 6. Please share if you know someone who may be a candidate.

Description from city of Seattle:
Want to influence large commercial and multifamily buildings to reduce emissions, decarbonize and get to net-zero? Join a growing team to implement Seattle's new Building Emissions Performance Standard (BEPS) policy. This is an opportunity to do innovative work to combat the climate crisis. In this role, you will use your subject matter expertise in building electrification / decarbonization, knowledge of Seattle’s commercial and multifamily building market, and collaborative client- or customer- focused skills to frame the policy’s technical requirements, which will clarify the new legislation’s requirements for building owners and service providers (e.g., what the City will require in emissions reports and decarbonization plans). You’ll also develop technical content for tools and materials to help building owners and operators cut carbon emissions to meet the BEPS requirements and discuss compliance options with owners and service providers to reach net-zero over time. We are looking for applicants with significant experience with building sustainability and performance, energy efficiency, electrification retrofits, low-carbon strategies, and energy audits, as well as an interest in staying on top of the latest trends in low emissions and net-zero retrofits. We also value applicants with phenomenal customer-facing skills who can interact with and influence private, nonprofit and institutional building owners, and facility managers and energy service providers.
