Hi all,
My office is looking at some certification options for our upcoming renovation. One thing the management team asked me that I don't have a solid answer for is, do WELL certified spaces typically go through with recertification and everything it entails, or are they doing the upfront work to get certified and then letting it lapse? I've been wondering about this as well, as clients tend to be interested in the certification but unsure about what kind of commitment they'll be willing to make in three years. Or they are convinced of the ROI on healthy building practices but less so on the recurring certification/performance testing fees. Especially as many of these office spaces have a lower in-person population than they did pre-COVID.
Curious if anyone here has experience to speak to, if you've run a WELL certification for a client (or your own space) over 3 years ago, has there been follow-through to maintain the status?
The key to the recertification is aligning a person to maintain the annual WELL requirements and start the recertification process a year before the expiration of the existing certification.
