To comply with this credit, the project team should fill out the Prevention Through Design worksheet (PtD) for Life Cycle Safety and Health, which is divided into two stages: Operation & Maintenance and Construction.
1. Operation & Maintenance Worksheet
For the Operation & Maintenance stage, the LEED consultant can provide an Excel matrix to facilitate communication and coordination among the various disciplines involved in the project during the pre-design and design phases. The project team will then fill out the Excel matrix. This process enables the analysis of the design and discussion of its progress, identifying opportunities to achieve high-performance, cost-effective outcomes in employee safety and health throughout the building's life cycle. The findings from these reviews will be utilized to enhance the owner's project requirements (OPR), basis of design (BOD), and design and construction documents.
2. Construction Worksheet
Filling out the construction worksheet would be easier if the contractor implements ESC plans and IAQ management for this project, referring to SMACNA guidelines and LEED requirements from the US EPA. Additionally, filling out the construction worksheet would also be easier if the contractor implements the Health and Safety Management System (HSE).
