The draft version of LEED v5 for existing buildings (1)undervalues cleaning in the weighting process, (2)eliminates the prerequisite for systems and worker training, and (3) does not provide a social equity credit for cleaners, food service workers or other contract workers in a building. This needs tyo be remedied in order to ensure that LEED remains a comprehensive and relevant standard. The draft should dramitically increasse the value of cleaning, reinstate requirements for systems and worekr trainings, and provide a social equity equity for cleaners. Ignoring or minimizing the importance of cleanint, training wholly ignores a huge aspect of green buildings.
