Municipal law requires that our building be completely smoke-free inside. It also bans smoking next to the building, but it’s not as stringent as the 25 foot LEED requirement. Do we have to make another policy that bans smoking within 25 feet?

Smoking policy required in countries where workplace smoking is not permitted by law

Hi, i've had a very good question from a client. Why does LEED require a no-smoking policy in countries where workplace smoking is not permitted by law?

Has anyone provided a reference to local law, rather than an occupier policy, and had it accepted?
