New ASHRAE Standard looking for committee members

I wanted to alert you to this opportunity to help develop a new ASHRAE Standard. They are especially looking for people who have not served with ASHRAE previously (aka the usual suspects)

ASHRAE Standard 242P, Standard Method for Calculation of Building Operational Greenhouse Gas Emissions

1 Purpose: This standard provides a common methodology for the calculation of greenhouse gas (GHG) and carbon emissions of new and existing buildings. This standard provides a consistent procedure and data to be referenced by other standards that define methods of evaluation, verification, limitations, or targets for new and existing buildings. 

Seems like some folks in the peer networks might have some expertise in this area.

Not to dampen anyone's enthusiasm, but the Committee has already formed (and may not be acdcepting new members), and there is a first full publication review draft out, and ASHRAE is accepting review comments until March 18, 2024.  Those wanting to make comments should go to osr.ashrae.org.  This is not an easy page to navigate, so it takes some searching to find the 240P information.  I have, for your reading pleasure, as well as insomnia treatment, uploaded the current draft.

Oops! My apologies, Brother Schaffner - I read through your post too fast! My reply is about Standard 240 P: Quantification of Life Cycle Greenhouse Gas Emissions. (And it does need your comments and input!) I do have to wonder why ASHRAE is creating a standard just for operational GHG emissions, since Standard 240's chapter 7 is "Quantifying Operational Greenhouse Gas Emissions" - sound familiar?

Brother Kim's point is great.   240P is out there, but it is not the "final" position of emission calculation and is out for comment.   So if we have opinions, let's let them know.   E.g. 240 P suggested a "forward" looking emission calulation using Cambium and GWP 20 for electric grid calculation.  Do you agree?
